This is an interesting example of what we believe to be a CASE XX 337 6 Q (Quartermaster Knife) which was soldier modified during World War II, likely in 1944 which is carved into the crossguard. Remnants of the CASE XX marking can be seen on one side of the ricasso. The grip has been hatched in a similar vein to German bayonets and trench knives. The 6 blade still retains its bright finish. The crossguard is brass
